​I run a private practice as well as work on a tempory basis for various treatment centres around Cape Town. My clients are mainly those who suffer from addiction, low self-esteem, have been through traumatic experiences and those who need assistance with goal setting.

​Responsible for management and day-to-day running of secondary care addiction treatment facility. Individual sessions and conjoint sessions. Facilitation of client admissions, orientation and discharge. Facilitation of gender/trauma groups, community groups, feelings groups, weekend planning, goals and objectives group. Co-ordination of program. Liaison with primary care facility and other referrers/outside professionals. Administrative functions including email, correspondence and telephony. Managing of clients’ pocket monies and facility’s petty cash. Co-ordination with hospital kitchen regarding stock control, grocery orders and meal planning. Support counsellor functions including containment of clients and enforcement of facility rules and regulations. 

 

 

Group Facilitator

Facilitation of therapeutic trauma group. Redefine and model group according to client’s needs. Preparation of all written work and core models for group. Observe behavior of clients. Provision of accurate and reliable feedback to director of facility/senior counselor.
